The invention relates to a device for use in a waste bin of the type which comprises at least one hatch 6 arranged for closure of an emptying opening in a bin wall, which hatch is hinge-connected to the bin wall at its lower edge and can be swivelled between a swung-up position and a position swung out from the bin wall whenever the bin is tilted in its entirety for the purpose of emptying its contents through the said opening. The hatch is provided with a lower edge section 13, which extends a little bit beyond the centre of rotation of the hatch in the hinges 8 and is arranged such that it overlaps an upper edge section 14 of an inclined wall 12. The edge section 13 of the hatch will thereby swivel backwards and upwards whenever the hatch is opened and will be positioned close to and beneath the second edge section 14 when the hatch is fully open and will form a bridging transition between the hatch and the inclined wall of the bin, a slide plane being obtained which extends continuously from the base of the bin to the upper edge of the hatch with a view to preventing the contents of the container from lodging in the hinged connection when the container is emptied. <IMAGE> |
