The subject of the invention is a device for holding a crutch vertical. It is composed of a removable support 10 on the lower end of the crutch 8, fixed to the latter by a clamping collar, and on the said support 10 are mounted, articulated by one of their ends, a pair of upper rods 5A, 5B and a pair of lower rods 6A, 6B longer than the upper rods 5A, 5B, by the other end, these rods 5A, 5B and 6A, 6B articulate on folding legs 1, 2, springs 11 being fixed between the said support 10 and the legs 1, 2, whilst the said articulated legs 1, 2 are deployed laterally by means of small cables 13, 15, fixed between the upper rods 5A, 5B and an operating bolt articulated to the base of the support 10 and provided with an adjustment and locking button 16. The invention applies in particular to elbow crutches. <IMAGE>
