<p>Compounds of the formula wherein A and A' are independently hydroxy, alkoxy, aryloxy, or hydroxyamino; R1, R2, R4 and R5 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, fused cycloalkylaryl, fused arylcycloalkyl, aryloxyalkyl, or arylalkyloxyalkyl; R3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl, lower alkynyl, aryl, fused cycloalkylaryl, fused arylcycloalkyl, fused cycloalkylarylalkyl, fused arylcycloalkylalkyl, aralkyl, cycloalkyl, or heterocyclic; and R6 is hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, acyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, polycycloalkyl, polycycloalkylalkyl, aryl, aralkyl, polycyclic aryl, fused cycloalkylaryl, fused arylcycloalkyl, fused arylcycloalkylalkyl, or fused cycloalkylarylalkyl; and wherein the alkyl and alkyl moieties in the substituents contain 1 to 9 carbon atoms; the lower alkyl contains 1 to 6 carbom atoms; the alkenyl and alkynyl and the groups and moieties of these substituents contain 2 to 9 carbon atoms; the heterocyclic, aryl and the aryl moieties contain 6 to 10 carbon atoms; the cycloalkyl and the cycloalkyl groups and moieties contain 3 to 9 carbon atoms; the polycycloalkyl contains 6 to 20 carbon atoms; and the acyl is alkynoyl, aroyl, aralkanyl, sulfonyl, sulfamoyl, and carbamoyl wherein the alkyl and aryl moieties are as above defined. These compounds are useful for treating hypertension.</p> |
