PURPOSE:To attain accurate focusing by adjusting an object for focusing at an area on a screen of a viewfinder and applying minute adjustment to a high spatial frequency component. CONSTITUTION:An operation member 32 is operated to apply focus adjustment of a focus lens 10 to an object on an area of a screen of a viewfinder. The operation of the operation member 32 moves a focus lens 10 via a drive circuit 18 and an actuator 16. When the operation of the operation member 32 is finished, a high frequency component of the video signal obtained via a high pass filter 51 is given to a focus position selection analog gate 52. A control circuit 50 allows a drive circuit 24 to drive an actuator 22 minutely based on the high frequency component of the video signal and the aperture from the potentiometer 28 and outputs a control signal to apply fine adjustment for focusing a focus lens 12. |
