PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material being excellent in thermal responsiveness, light resistance, weather resistance, oil resistance and optical reading properties, by making a heat-sensitive color development layer contain a specified divinyl compound as basic colorless dye and also a specified halogen-substituted zinc benzoate salt derivative as a stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:A divinyl compound expressed by the general formula (I) is contained as basic colorless dye in a heat-sensitive color development layer, and also a halogen- substituted zinc benzoate salt derivative expressed by the general formula (II) is contained therein as a stabilizer. In this halogen-substituted zinc benzoate salt derivative, a halogen atom is combined directly with a benzene skeleton, and since the halogen atom has a very strong electron-sucking property, it lessens the electron density on a metal through the intermediary of pi electrons on a benzene ring. In addition, zinc is a transition metal atom having a vacant (d) track which accepts electrons very easily, and the halogen-substituted zinc benzoate salt derivative acts to enhance sharply a chemical bonding strength between an organic developer and the divinyl compound on the occasion of a heat fusion reaction. Therefore the chemical bond is not broken even when it is exposed for a long period to environmental conditions wherein it is affected by light, heat, humidity, etc., and thus a developed color image is made stable. |
