PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a musical sound generating channel by selecting the musical sound generating channel corresponding to the minimum value of the residual sound quantity of a musical sound or a value corresponding to its residual sound quantity. CONSTITUTION:The title musical instrument is provided with an arithmetic means 1 for calculating the residual sound quantity of a musical sound or a value corresponding to its residual sound quantity assigned extending from a release request time point to a musical sound generating channel based on as assignment of a new musical sound to a sound end time point of the musical sound, and a selecting means 2 for selecting the musical sound generating channel corresponding to the minimum value of the residual sound quantity by said arithmetic means 1 or a value corresponding to its residual sound quantity. That is, based on the residual sound quantity calculated by the arithmetic means 1 or a value corresponding to its residual sound quantity, the musical sound generating channel corresponding to their minimum value is selected by the selecting means 2. To the musical sound generating channel selected in such a way, a new musical sound is assigned. In such a way, in order from the musical sound generating channel whose influence is the smallest, it is released, and the musical sound generating channel can be utilized effectively. |
