PURPOSE: To enable a strip to form a different shape by moving separated points of the strip each other. CONSTITUTION: An article has a stainless steel strip 2 mounted to a pivot 6. Edges 4 of the strip 2 can freely rotate each other by the pivot 6. A shape memory metal actuator 10 is connected to the edges 4 of the strip 2, thus rotating the edges 4. When temperature increases, the actuator 10 is transformed into austenite to change shape, thus rotating the edges 4 and changing the shape of the strip 2 itself. |
