Regulation of the voltage in the load coil is effected by short-circuits in the two voltage periods. Each positive or negative semi-cycle is controlled by an independent regulator. The short-circuit element is single, however, conducting in both directions controlling the voltage angles. The rectified positive voltage makes the transistor conduct for positive regulation, and the negative requires a minimum threshold to make the transistor conduct for the negative regulation. The electronic components are mounted on a printed circuit board with one or two outlet terminals, embedded in epoxy resin.
