PURPOSE:To remove the remaining of excessive parts and arranging labor and to obtain an inexpensive method, by confirming and extracting the position and posture of electronic parts from the movement of the inertia main axis and center-of-gravity coordinates calculated by processing the images of the bulk parts placed on a pallet at random. CONSTITUTION:In a part separation apparatus, for example, the images of electronic parts 8-1-8-n equipped with leads constituted of body parts 9 and lead parts 10 mounted on a pallet 7 subjected to transmitted illumination by an illuminator 5 are taken by a camera 3. At this time, processing for calculating center-of-gravity coordinates and an inertia main axis from said images by an image processor 1 is performed two times in a state having the parts 10 and a state having no parts 10 by the setting of a binary level. The position and posture of the parts 8-1-8-n are confirmed from the movement of the inertia main axis and center-of-gravity coordinates thus calculated and can be extracted. |
