In the process described, a liquid (A) containing water glass is introduced into the soil to be treated and possibly reacted with another liquid (B) introduced into the soil, in order to form a hydrogel. The process is characterized in that liquid (A) is treated, before or during its introduction into the soil to be treated, with an aqueous suspension of a hydraulic binder (liquid C).
