PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent sensitivity even to a short wave side wavelength region and to obviate accumulation of residual potential and deterioration of electrostatic chargeability by incorporating a specific azo pigment in an electric charge generating layer. CONSTITUTION:The azo pigment expressed by the formula I is used in the charge generating layer. In the formula I, X denotes a substd. or unsubstd. arom. ring or heterocycle; Ar denotes a substd. or unsubstd. arom. ring or heterocycle. The charge generating layer is formed by adding the azo pigment to a suitable solvent and coating the resulted liquid dispersion on a substrate and drying the coating. The electrophotographic sensitive body which exhibits the excellent sensitivity even to the short wave side wavelength region, obviates the accumulation of the residual potential and the deterioration of the electrostatic chargeability and has the excellent durability is thereby obtd. |
