PURPOSE:To retard increase in electrode potential in charging and to retain the reliability and performance of a battery by using a specified compound as a solvent of an electrolyte in a secondary battery in which a conductive polymer is used in at least one electrode. CONSTITUTION:1,2-butylene carbonate and sulfolane as shown in the chemical formulas are mixed in the volume ratio of 9:1-1:4 and used as the solvent of an electrolyte. A conductive polymer used in an electrode is polypyrrole or polyaniline. By this constitution, the solvation ot sulfolane with an anon such as perchlorate ion used as a dopant is easily dissolved by the interaction of sulfolane and conductive polymer and an increase in voltage in charging is retarded. Since the decomposition voltage of this mixed solvent is high, the corrosion of a battery container and the decomposition of the conductive polymer are retarded and the performance of a battery is kept high. |
