PURPOSE: To check, repair and substitute the pipe in a pipe system easily by constituting the device with a plurality of spaced apart members assembled together in interdigital ring-shaped arrangement in a substantially transversally side by side state and a fastening ring disposed around the assembled members. CONSTITUTION: In order to connect two rods 26, 27, a member 30 of the rod 27, for example, is disposed in the space between the two members 28, 29 of the other rod 26 so that the two end surfaces of the rods 26, 27 contact each other. Then a fastening ring 31 is engaged around the members 28, 29, 30. In order to fasten the members 28, 29, 30 tightly to the ends of the rods 26, 27, the diameter of the fastening ring 31 is reduced, for example, by a screw means. Flanges 32 arranged on the members 28-30 act as the guide means for positioning the fastening ring 31 in the predetermined position.
