PURPOSE:To obtain an oxide superconductor having the high critical current density, by heat-treating specific oxides blended so as to exhibit superconductivity by heat treatment in an oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:At least one of CuO, MIII-CuO based oxides, MIII-MII-O based oxides, MII-Cu-O based oxides and MIII-MII-CuO based oxides blended so as to exhibit superconductivity by heat treatment is heat-treated in an oxidizing atmosphere. Thereby the aimed MIII-MII-Cu-O based oxide superconductor is produced. In the formulas, MIII represents at least one of group III elements and MII represent at least one of group II elements. In the production process of the oxide superconductor, the above-mentioned oxides are heat-treated without carrying out calcining and then sintering as in a conventional method. Thereby the grain boundary surfaces of the formed crystal grains are in a clean state and sintering is advanced with the adjacent crystal grains to ensure electrical contact of good quality. As a result, the aimed superconductor having the high critical current density can be produced. |
