PURPOSE:To lighten the anisotropy of the induced magnetism generated during working and spread the maser magnetic domain width by applying a magnetic field onto an amorphous metal and moving a polisher in reciprocation in parallel to the direction of the magnetic field and polishing-working the amorphous metal. CONSTITUTION:During the polishing work, a magnetic field is generated on a working stage by the electric conduction of an electromagnetic coil 5. At the same time, a polisher 8 is moved in reciprocation in parallel to the direction of the magnetic field, and an amorphous metal 4 on the working stage is polishing-worked by the polisher 8. In this case, the damage of the worked surface of the amorphous metal 4 by magnetism, i.e., the anisotropy of the induced magnetism is lightened by the magnetic field, and the maser magnetic domain width is spread. Therefore, when the amorphous metal which is polishing-worked is used for a magnetic head, etc., the use is facilitated by the magnetic energy having less magnetization, and the magnetic head can be easily manufactured. |
