PURPOSE: To improve scratch resistance of images by adding the particles of a mixture composed of wax and metal soap or inorg. metal salt to a developer. CONSTITUTION: This developer contains the particles (A) a nonpolar liquid having a kauri-butanol value of <30, a thermoplastic resin of an average area particle size of <10μm, a charge control agent and a mixture composed of the wax (a) and >=1 kinds of metal soap (b) or inorg. metal salt (c) as essential components. Triglyceride wax is usable for the component (a), calcium behenate, barium stearate, etc., for the component (b) and magnesium sulfate, etc., for the component (c). The component A is preferably a molten mixture composed of the component (a) and the component (b) or the component (a) and the component (c).
