PURPOSE:To increase sealability to prevent electrolyte leakage by specifying the hardness of at least the side wall near the opening of a container. CONSTITUTION:The hardness of at least the side wall 32 near the opening of a container 31 which also acts as one terminal is specified to 100-200 in Vickers hardness to give softness. For example, when a crimping mold 51 is pushed against the side wall 32 near the opening from the upper part of the container 31, the side wall 32 is curved along the inner shape of the crimping mold 51 even if the strength of the corner differs from that of the flat part. A gasket 37 placed inside the side wall 32 is similarly curved to make closely contact with a sealing plate 39. The sealability of a battery is increased and a drop in life is prevented. |
