PURPOSE:To damp vibration in low and high frequency regions through a single vibration isolator by arranging first and second sub-fluid chambers through first and second electrode orifice structures at the opposite sides of a main fluid chamber in the input direction of displacing force. CONSTITUTION:A main fluid chamber 30 is formed in a rubber insulator 20 secured between first and second frames 14, 18, and electrical rheology fluid having viscosity variable with applying voltage is communicated through first and second electrode orifices 26, 28 secured to the frames 14, 18 between the main fluid chamber 30 and first and second sub-fluid chambers 36, 38 arranged at the opposite side in the input direction of displacement. One of the orifice structures 26, 28 is employed for low frequency region while the other is employed for high frequency, and when low frequency vibration is inputted voltage is applied onto the electrode orifice structure for damping high frequency vibration to bring out sticked condition while reverse condition is brought out for low frequency vibration input. By such arrangement, vibration can be damped over a wide frequency region. |
