A sanitary fitting occupying very little vertical space comprising a trap 8, 9 of great width to receive the emptied contents 4 from the body of the fitting 1, an overflow 2 formed in the upper part of the body of the fitting 1 and discharging into the body of the trap 8, a draining mechanism 7 and a device 5 for closing the body of the fitting 1. The body 1, the outlet 4, the overflow 2, the trap 8, 9, the cover-receiving system 13, the closing device guide 6 and the means of emptying 11 are moulded in a single piece.
