Working station of the type for the assembly and automatic welding of profiled sheets and the like for the manufacture of, for example, motor-vehicle bodies, and with the use of frame devices for restraining the parts in position and for welding them. The frame devices carry a multiplicity of clamping/welding tongs in which the multiplicity of tongs are inserted in the suitable positions in the frame devices by means of the articulated robot arms which remove this multiplicity of tongs from tong magazines provided for this. These frame devices have the receptacles for the tongs arranged in standard positions in such a way that the adaptation of the frame devices for a particular production is achieved really simply by the appropriate tongs being inserted into appropriate positions in these frame devices.
