PURPOSE:To lap an elliptical groove of a workpiece with high precision by pressing downward a tool holder housed and held in a piston moved downward by a pressure-adjusted fluid, and providing a means for oscillating a lapping tool while pressing the lapping tool against the workpiece on a table. CONSTITUTION:An attachment 1a is fixed to a machine tool spindle head 2a, an eccentric dowel 4 of an eccentric shaft 3 is eccentrically located by rotating a rotary disc 2 connected to a fixed disc 1, a tool holder 6 is also eccentrically located through an eccentric pin 5, and the tool holder 6 is oscillated by a specified eccentricity by rotating the spindle head 2a. In this instance, a piston 10 housing and holding the tool holder 6 is moved downward with the supply of pressurized air to an air pocket 9b of a cylinder 15, and presses the tool holder 6 downward toward a workpiece 8 fixed and held on a table 11. A lapping tool held in the oscillating tool holder 6 is pressed against the workpiece 8, and an elliptical groove of the workpiece 8 is lapped by this lapping tool. |
