PURPOSE:To obtain a pigment-based ink jet printer capable of supplying a pigment-based ink to a jet nozzle without causing blocking of a filter by using a system in which even when a pigment-basis ink to be supplied to the jet nozzle is adhered to the filter medium, the ink is crushed by a supersonic vibrating horn and passed. CONSTITUTION:A pigment-based ink coming from the inlet 50 of a cylindrical container 54 in a filter 20 is passed through a filter medium 62 in the diametral direction, passed through holes 60a, and discharged from an outlet 52. When pigment suspended in the ink is adhered to the surface of the filter medium 62, the pigment is crushed by strong vibrative cavitation from a supersonic vibrating horn 58 when the filter medium 62 comes beneath the horn 58 by rotation, and then passed through the filter medium 62 in the form of fine particles. |
