Broadcaster with a supply container having metering members which feed the material located in the supply container in adjustable quantities to at least two driven centrifugal discs equipped with throwing elements and distributing the material broadcast on the surface of the ground, the centrifugal discs being drivable via adjustable drive elements having variable rotational speeds for the purpose of varying the effective working width or spreading width over which the material is distributed by the centrifugal discs. In order to allow marginal spreading by the simplest possible means in a broadcaster described in the introduction, provision is made for designing the adjustable drive elements (10, 11, 15, 16) for the centrifugal discs (6, 6') in such a way that the centrifugal discs (6, 6') can be driven at at least approximately identical rotational speeds for "normal spreading" and at rotational speeds different from one another for "marginal spreading" (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
