N-Sulphamoyl 3-(2-guanidino-thiazol-4-yl methylthio) propionamidine of formula (I), for treatment of ulcers of the digestive system, is made by reacting a guanidino-thiazole cpd. of formula (II), in which X is halogen, silate or tosylate with a N-sulphamoyl propionamidine thiol cpd. of formula (III) in which M is an alkali metal, e.g. Na or K, or an alkaline earth metal, e.g. Ca, Mg or Ba, in organic solvent and in presence of a catalyst of crown ether type.
