<p>An improved photographic cassette (10) is disclosed having a pressure plate (48) adjacent a rear cover wall (16) thereof provided with laterally extending tabs (72) on opposite side edges thereof. The cassette (10) further has a floating plate (44) adjacent a front cover wall (14) which is unsecured to the front cover wall (14) at least at all portions thereof except the center portion. The floating plate (44) has ears (76) laterally extending from the side edges thereof in register with and spaced from the tabs (72). The cassette (10) has push-bar mechanisms (96) adapted when the push-bar mechanisms (96) are moved to an extended position to enter the space between the ears (76) and tabs (72) and to engage the tabs (72) and move the pressure plate (48) toward the rear cover wall (14), and to override the ears (76) for latching the floating plate (44) to the front cover wall (14) whereby the pressure and floating plates (44, 48) are spaced apart for allowing a sheet (F) to freely move into or exit the cassette (10).</p> |
