<p>of the Invention A tool for intermeshing the loops of coils secured to the ends of a fabric to form a continuous belt comprises two plates which, when matted, form a first channel joined to a second channel. The first and second channels are displaced along a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the fabric such that the loops are intermeshed as each of the coils is passed through one of the channels as the tool is passed along the ends. The plates also have first and second pressure rollers which are disposed on opposite sides of the seam and have an axis of rotation which is at an angle from the seam which is less than 90.degree.. A third pressure roller is provided to apply pressure on the coils so that they intermesh.</p> |
