PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of the operating efficiency of a printing system and to enhance service, by altering printing order when a paper absent state is generated with due regard to the size data of the page of the printing data sent from a host. CONSTITUTION:When a paper absence error is generated in a paper feed part a3-1 at the printing start time of a page of an A4 size wherein printing order is (i), printing is stopped and this state is displayed. Then, an error is informed to the printer status control part 5 of a control unit 4 from a printer 2 and the control unit 4 compares the paper size of the separate paper feed part b3-2 with the page size 6-1 of a printing data control apparatus 6 to confirm whether printing is possible. As a result, when printing is possible, printing order is altered and the printing order of a page of a B4 size wherein printing order 6-2 is (i+1) and (i+2) is advanced to perform printing. Thereafter, the replenishment of the paper of the A4 size is performed to the paper feed part a3-1 to perform operation so as to reopen the printing of the A4 size and printing order is restored to print the page of the A4 size of the printing order (i). |
