In an indexable construction unit, positive locking of the rotatable part relative to a stationary part is effected by rolling bodies which can be set free of play and operated in recesses of a fixed annular surface and an annular surface rotating concentrically in the fixed annular surface by a third annular surface of a coupling ring. The three-piece rack tooth systems used hitherto are rendered superfluous by this arrangement. While fully retaining the accuracy and more or less retaining the stability, the production costs are considerably reduced.
