<p>PURPOSE:To provide a washing process wherein an electrostatic precipitator can be brought into operation again in a short time after water-washing thereof, by providing effective means in a series of processes of the electrostatic precipitator such as water washing, polluted-water treatment, and sludge treatment. CONSTITUTION:In a washing process of an electrostatic precipitator, pressurized water is sprayed toward the dust collecting passages of the precipitator to remove depositions of soots in the passages and pressurized air is blown against the electrode plates which form the dust collecting passages to blow off waterdrops having attached to said plates, while air is passed through said passages. In a polluted-water treatment process that follows, inorganic flocculants (e.g. ferric chloride) and organic flocculants (e.g. Nonion polymer flocculant) are added to the polluted water produced in the forgoing washing process to effect flocculation of suspended soots for the formation of flocs, following which air-dissolved water having quantity of dissolved air larger than that corresponding to atmospheric pressure is mixed with the polluted water that has gone through the flocculation treatment so that soots contained in the polluted water are caused to rise to the surface thereof to be separated. Further in a sludge treatment process, organic flocculants are added again to the sludge having been produced in said polluted water treatment process to effect flocculation again.</p> |
