The invention relates to a chamber filter disc or membrane filter disc of plastic, consisting of a thick-walled edge and a thinner central region, and to a process for producing finished mouldings, serving as chamber filter discs and membrane filter discs, of plastic with regions of the cross-section having variable thickness, specifically an edge which is considerably thicker than the central region of the disc, by laying at least one prefabricated solid plastic part into a mould comprising an upper part and a lower part and then filling further plastic material into the mould and subsequently pressing with the supply of heat before the mould is cooled and the finished moulding is removed from the mould. The object of the invention is to provide a chamber filter disc and membrane filter disc which can be produced simply and quickly and is free of voids and cracks and does not cause any problems in particular in the transition region from the central thin region of the disc to the thick-walled edge. The process according to the invention consists in using as prefabricated part an annular solid core which is inserted such that, in the pressed-down state, it has the same distance from all the inner walls of the mould and in that the further plastic material is filled into the mould as melt.
