PURPOSE:To simplify a construction of an apparatus for analysis, by making the apparatus store an intensity of a background spectrum, and making store an intensity of absorption of a sample including the background, and then making the substraction between both intensities in a signal processing circuit. CONSTITUTION:In the first scanning of wavelength, any sample is not placed in a sample cell 3, and the signal which comes from a thermocouple 12 corresponding to each wavelength of infrared rays is stored in a memory in a signal-processing circuit 17, and then the intensity of the background spectrum, i.e., the balance between the intensity of spectrum of a light source, itself and the intensity of absorption by carbon dioxide and water vapor in the air, is obtained. In the second scanning of wavelength, a sample to be determined is placed in the sample cell 3, and the net intensity of spectrum, i.e., the balance between the intensity of the light source, itself and the intensity of infrared absorption by carbon dioxide and water vapor in the air plus the intensity of infrared absorption by the sample, itself, is determined, and then stored in the memory in the signal processing circuit 17. Then, the difference between the intensities of both spectra is calculated, and its output is recorded on a recording chart 16. |
