NEW MATERIAL:A substance DC-105, expressed by the formula and exhibiting the following physico-chemical properties. Mol. wt.; 457. Molecular formula; C24H31N3O6. mass spectrometry; secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) 458 (M+1)<+>, electron impact mass spectrometry (EIMS) 457 (M)<+> and 455 (M-2)<+>. Color and property; light yellow basic substance. Solubility; soluble in chloroform, DMSO, methanol, ethyl acetate and acetone and sparingly soluble in water and n-hexane. Color reaction; positive to ninhydrin and p-anisidine reagents, etc. USE:An antitumor agent and antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:A microorganism [Streptomyces DO-105 (FERM BP-1490)], belonging to the genus Streptomyces and having the ability to produce the substance DC-105 is cultivated at 28-38 deg.C and pH 6-8 for 1-7 days, preferably by a submerged spinner culture method. |
