Rotationally driven roller comprising a chassis with hitching points and a drive transmission supported by the chassis, the driven roller exerting, during operation, a propulsion force on a tractor to which it is hitched, and covering approximately the width of the tractor, the said roller being driven by a power take-off shaft of the tractor, characterised in that the chassis 109 has hitching points 116, 119 for directly hitching to the three hitching points of a lifting device 61 of the tractor; in that the input shaft of the transmission 110 is intended to be coupled directly to a power take-off shaft 48 of the tractor which shaft is driven, during operation, at a speed which is proportional to the speed of travel of the tractor, and in that the said chassis supports a main driven shaft 115 provided with appendages 121 extending out radially and intended to be driven by being engaged in the ground at a peripheral speed which is slightly greater than the speed of travel of the tractor, so that the said roller exerts a propulsion force which is added to that of the tractor to which it is hitched. <IMAGE>
