The subject of the invention is a system for the analysis of data from a coin-operated gaming machine, having an interface on the gaming machine for data output, a data carrier which is connected to the gaming machine for recording operational and identification data of the gaming machine, and a remote data processor with an interface for input/output of gaming machine data. The analysis system comprises: - a memory for operational data in the gaming machine, - a unit for insertion of electronic memory cards, - next to the insertion unit, a read/write device for input/output of data to/from the relevant memory card in the insertion unit, - a data release device, between the memory and the read/write device, which releases transfer of data from the memory to the relevant memory card only on acquisition of predetermined data from the relevant memory card, - electronic memory cards which each bear a predetermined encoded data set for the reading of data from a particular gaming machine, and - a read/write device for electronic memory cards which is connected to the data processor. <IMAGE>
