In a milling machine with two tables (7, 8) on a machine bed (1), two synchronously driven drive gears (9, 10) are provided at a mutual distance from one another on each bed side. The respective table (7, 8) can thereby be driven in succession first by the one and then by the other drive gear (9, 10) so that it is able to perform a greater stroke than in known milling machines. <IMAGE>
