PURPOSE: A method for detecting an audio multiplex mode when receiving an analog TV broadcasting is provided to allow a viewer to listen to a correct audio by quickly and accurately detecting the audio multiplex mode of a currently received broadcasting channel and setting an analog TV as a suitable state. CONSTITUTION: The channel conversion of a TV is confirmed(S201). If a channel is converted, an audio signal is removed(S202). A TV audio multiplex judgement reference value is replaced by an adaptive threshold value(S203,S205). An audio mode of an inputted audio signal is judged(S207). If the channel is not converted, the TV audio multiplex judgement reference value is replaced by a stable threshold value and the audio mode of the input audio signal is judged(S204,S206). After the audio mode is judged, an audio mode of the TV is converted into the detected audio mode(S208a-S208c,S209a-S209c). The audio of the TV is activated(S210).
