PURPOSE: To adjust the lubricant liquid level of parallel cooling system compressors by an arrangement for apportioning evaporated refrigerant gas directly responsive to interior pressures of shells of first and second compressors. CONSTITUTION: When a system 10 is operating stably and pressures in shells of compressors 12, 14 are equal, pressures imposed upon surfaces 66, 70 of a spool 58 are equal to each other. As the spool 58 is positioned in the center of a valve 30, equal amounts of suction gas and entrained oil are delivered to the shells of the compressors 12, 14 through respective suction lines 32, 34. When the two compressors are operating unequally, a plug 60 is moved to occlude the flow of suction gas to the shell of a compressor in a high pressure state. |
