PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance by forming both corrugated trough parts and even parts having same height in the protruding part of a corrugated thin sheet made of metal at every prescribed interval for the lateral direction and the longitudinal direction of the thin sheet and molding this thin sheet into a roll-shape to provide a catalyst carrier. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst carrier 5 made of metal which is coated with a catalyst is arranged in a casing 4. The catalyst carrier 5 is provided by forming both corrugated trough parts 11 and even parts 12 having same height in the protruding part of a corrugated thin sheet made of metal at every prescribed interval for the lateral direction and the longitudinal direction of the corrugated thin sheet and also molding this corrugated thin sheet into a roll-shape. As a result, sticking amount distribution of a sizing agent such as alumina slurry liquid on the catalyst carrier made of metal is uniformized and the distribution of catalyst density on the surface of the catalyst carrier is uniformized and thermal deterioration of the catalyst due to sintering, etc., can be effectively prevented and heat resistance can be improved. |
