PURPOSE:To prevent a vehicle from being rearranged on an incorrect position of a map by adding attribution information including traffic rules to a storage means storing map data. CONSTITUTION:The position of a vehicle is rearranged on the map stored in the storage means 3 through a CPU 2 based on a detected vehicle position obtained from a position detecting means 1. Attribution information including the traffic rules is added to the means 3 by an attribution information storing means 5, e.g. even when the current detecting position is nearer to a general road running in parallel with an expressway, the CPU 2 rearranges the vehicle on the expressway in accordance with a vehicle speed information detected by a sensor 6. In addition, rearrangement of the vehicle to an entrance inhibiting road based upon the vehicle direction detected by the sensor 6 is also inhibited, so that the incorrect rearrangement of the vehicle on the map can be suppressed. |
