PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in communication between a camera and each of accessory devices as much as possible. SOLUTION: The camera comprises radio communication units 104, 105 for transmitting information by radio to an accessory device, changing units 108, 109 for changing the level of output of each of the radio communication units, and a detecting unit 106 for detecting whether or not the accessory device is attached to the camera. The changing units set the outputs of the radio communication units at a small value if the detecting unit detects that the accessory device is attached to the camera, and set the outputs of the radio communication units at a large value if it is detected that the accessory device is not attached to the camera.
