The article of furniture (10) has a top (12) movable between a closed substantially horizontal position and an open retracted substantially vertical position. The top comprises a flat plate having an elongated slot on the undersurface extending from a closed end adjacent the front edge to the rear edge thereof. A slider is slidably mounted within the slot, and has a surface thereof secured to one plate of a hinge. The opposite hinge plate is secured to the upper rear edge of the article of furniture. Accordingly, when the top is moved to its open retracted substantially vertical position, the slider is positioned adjacent the front edge of the top for supporting the top. The top opens to reveal a moisture resistant compartment (20) providing an area in which to change an infant. <IMAGE>
