PURPOSE:To prevent an operator from touching a high-temperature part of a fixing device to have his fingers burnt or feel them hot by automatically closing an entrance of a fixing form with a destaticizing lamp holding part member at the time of opening an upper cover for the purpose of replacing an image forming unit. CONSTITUTION:When an upper cover 14a is opened, the lower end of an arm 20 is separated from an arm 19 and a destaticizing lamp holding member 17 is rotated at 90 deg. counterclockwise by the energizing force of a torsion spring 18 and is brought into contact with the housing of a fixing device 11 to close the form entrance of the fixing device 11. Consequently, the operator is prevented from touching the high-temperature part of the device to have his fingers burnt or feel them hot at the time of attaching or detaching an image forming unit 6. |
