PURPOSE:To prevent a decrease in image density at and under a low temp. and low humidity by solidifying the particles of the polymer obtd. by emulsion polymn. of a polymerizable monomer in the presence of a coloring agent and/or magnetic powder so as to have the grain size suitable for a toner then subjecting the particles to ultrasonic cleaning after the solidification. CONSTITUTION:The particles of the polymer obtd. by the emulsion polymn. of the polymerizable monomer in the presence of the coloring agent and/or magnetic powder are solidified to have the grain size suitable for the toner. The emulsion polymn. of the polymerizable monomer is executed by emulsifying and dispersing the polymerizable monomer into an aq. solvent contg. an emulsifier and polymerizing the monomer. The coloring agent and/or the magnetic powder as well as a polymn. initiator can be added to the monomer at the time of this emulsion polymn. The polymer particles obtd. by utilizing the emulsion polymn. method in such a manner are subjected to the ultrasonic cleaning after the solidification. The toner for developing electrostatic charge images which has the excellent resolution, image density, gradation characteristic, cleanability, blocking resistance, and electrostatic charge stability, has the particularly excellent environmental resistance and is suitable for dry development is thereby obtd. |
