A printing method, and a printing apparatus are provided to improve washing fastness and friction fastness and to print on the cloth medium by ink-jet method. A printing method comprises the steps of printing an aqueous pigment ink containing an anionic resin on the cloth medium by ink-jet method; and coating the cloth medium with an aqueous coating agent containing a cationic resin particle before or after the printing process.
