<p>PURPOSE:To ensure the human work effect for the carving of furniture, etc., finished by an NC five spindle machine tool by producing the NC data for simultaneous five spindle control from the coordinate value of a point set on a curve forming a tool tip locus on a three-dimensional curved surface and the tool center axis vector so that various types of cut ends are obtained with the tool. CONSTITUTION:A point Ai is obtained on a curve forming a tool tip locus Mk on a three-dimensional curved surface SS. A normal vector N is obtained at the point Ai together with a tangent vector T on the locus Mk. Then an external product vector S is obtained between both vectors N and T. Furthermore the direction which is tilted by a designated angle theta toward the vector S from the vector N is defined as the tool center axis direction within a plane PL formed by both vectors N and S. Thus a tool center axis vector V is obtained. Then the NC data for simultaneous five spindle control is produced from the coordinate value of the point Ai and the vector V. Thus it is possible to obtain various types of tool cut ends and to ensure the human work effect for the carving of furniture, etc., finished by an NC five spindle machine tool.</p> |
