An optical film and a backlight unit including the same are provided to emit more light than the existing optical film by using the magnesium oxide powder as a dispersing agent. A backlight unit comprises a light source(110) and an optical film(130). The optical film transmits the light generated from the light source by comprising a base member and a protrusion. The protrusion is located on the base member. The dispersing agent consisting of polyhedrons is dispersed inside one of among the base member or protrusion. The dispersing agent is made of the magnesium oxide powder of rectangular shape. The magnesium oxide powder is transparent or consists of mono-crystals. |
