PURPOSE:To fix the pushing force, to execute stable casting and to improve the yield by shifting one pair of side plates held to rotating body toward casting width direction at the time of continuously casting a cast slab. CONSTITUTION:The one pair of side plates 2 held to the rotating body 1 in continuous casting apparatus for cast slab is constituted as shiftable toward casting width direction. As the time of casting, the side plates are shifted by energizing means 15, 16 to push the cast slab from the side faces. Then, the pushing force is controlled so as to become the fixed value. In such constitution, breakage of solidified shell is prevented and the stable casting is executed. |
