PURPOSE: To provide a lightweight mechanism by mounting a boat propulsion device piercing through the raised bottom surface of a boat, and providing a drive device placed under the boat and extending to the rear of the boat for steering, trimming, and tilting of the boat. CONSTITUTION: An L shaped drive device 110 is mounted via a mounting assembly 113 by a steering assembly 118 which rotates about a generally vertical axis 124 in order to steer the drive device 110. A trimming assembly 119 is mounted on the steering assembly 118 extending along a generally horizontal axis for trimming/tilting of the drive device 110. An upper drive shaft rotates about the vertical axis 124 of the steering assembly 118 and is connected to a lower drive shaft by a flexible coupling extending along a generally horizontal axis, in order to transmit a driving force during the trimming/tilting of the drive device 110. Steering can be effected by swinging the drive device 110 vertically, and trimming by swinging the drive device 110 vertically. |
