PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity, to remarkably reduce drop of acceptance potential due to preexposure fatigue and to prevent drop of acceptance potential even after repeated cycles of electric charging and exposure by incorporating an aliphatic mercaptan in a layer containing a charge generating material dispersed in it. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is provided on a conductive substrate 3 with the layer 1 formed by dispersing the charge generating material into a binder resin in an amount of 0.01-200wt.%, preferably, 1-50wt.% of the charge generating material and the aliphatic mercaptan in an amount of at least >=0.01wt.%, preferably, >=1wt.% of the charge generating material, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity, yet low in drop of acceptance potential due to preexposure fatigue, and also not reduced in the acceptance potential after repeated cycles of charging and exposure. |
