PURPOSE:To effectively utilize the exhaust gas without generating NOX etc. by bringing the exhaust gas mixed with fuel into contact with oxidizing catalyst and increasing the temperature of the exhaust gas by the generated reaction heat and feeding said exhaust gas into a part to be supplied with the gas. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas discharged from an internal-combustion engine 1 is added with fuel and mixed, and then introduced into a catalytic cylinder 5 filled with oxidizing catalyst. Said fuel is oxidized in the catalytic cylinder 5 by the oxygen left in the exhaust gas, and the temperature of the exhaust gas is increased to a desired value by the reaction heat generated together with the above-mentioned oxidation. Then, the exhaust gas is supplied into a part 3 to be supplied with the gas such as boiler etc., and the fluid for instance, is heated by utilizing the heat energy of the exhaust gas. Consequently, the amount of NOX is not increased, and the unburnt components such as hydrocarbon and soot are not left in the exhaust gas, and thus the exhaust gas can be utilized effectively. |
